Hope to Have Your Thoughts...

It is a sign of the times. My signifanct other came home the other day and they had been laid off from thier job! Eeeekkkkk.

Fears starting rolling through my head in regards to the bills, the mortgage, our vacation that is coming up very soon. All I can say is thank goodness for unemployment.

It is a very scary time to have half of a double income family laid off. We are lucky though, that I have a secure (for it seems to be at the moment) job.

We are hoping that a job will come along by mid next month. Until than it is minimum payments on the credit cards, shopping at discount grocery stores such as Aldis and really thinking about a purchase before making it.

Ugh...thank you Mr. President....you can kiss my ass!!!

And depending on his profession, it will be quite sometime before re-employment. I was in the mortgage industry and got out before the crash and burn. no one would allow me in the financial field because of a felony conviction 25 years ago, even though for the series 6, 66, 7 I passed with some of the highest honors. I sold portable toliets and was laid off from that. I now work about 25 hours a week for a compnay whose clients are HP, Comcast, etc. but still in less than 3 years I went from making 200+ per year to maybe 40K with 4 children and my wife now works 2 days a week. prep for bankruptcy is what I can offer at present especially the way the job market is. I'm almost 50 and this has been the worst several years that I can remember financially.
Good news is that the time you both have now rekindle more of the joys and try to take those Daycations that you both have wanted to do. Mostly remember to enjoy each other.
